Kansas team puts the ball on the ground six times in fourth straight loss.
There was little to be excited about on the Kansas sideline in the Greater Kansas City Football all-star game.
The Missouri squad picked up its fourth straight win over Kansas, 21-7 Thursday at William Jewell's Norris Patterson Field.
"You're dealing with an all-star game where you're preparing for a game with just eight practices," said Kansas coach Jeff Meyers of Olathe East. "That played into it and so did the wind. Missouri took advantage of having the wind at its back."
Tyler Lawrence, a Shawnee Mission West graduate who will play quarterback at KU, completed four of 12 passes for 44 yards and a touchdown to Stephen Blumhardt, a Blue Valley graduate. But there weren't many more Kansas highlights.
Lawrence and BV West graduate Aaron Trigg alternated possessions playing quarterback, and neither got much going offensively.
There were six Kansas fumbles, including one by Lawrence which was returned 34 yards by Blue Springs Jordan Pellock for a touchdown, giving Missouri a 14-0 lead in the second quarter.
Blue Valley linebacker Cody Scribner picked up most valuable player honors for Kansas. Raymore-Peculiar's Thomas Hodges was named most valuable player for Missouri.
